Driploop Email Tracker for Gmail

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Driploop Email Tracker browser extension (the “Extension”) and its related service (together, “Driploop”, “we”, or “us”) handle information when you use the Extension to track emails you send from Gmail. It applies only to the Extension and does not cover any third-party websites or services.

By installing or using the Extension, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Extension.

Information the Extension processes

To provide its tracking features, the Extension processes:

  • Email metadata you send. When you send a tracked email, we process the subject line, the sender and recipient email addresses, the URLs of links in the message, and the associated Gmail message and thread identifiers. We do not read or store the full body of your emails beyond what is needed to insert tracking pixels and rewrite links.
  • Open and click events. When a recipient opens a tracked email or clicks a tracked link, we record that the event happened and when. If you enable the corresponding options, we may also record an approximate (region-level) location and the browser type derived from the request. We do not store raw IP addresses; instead we use a one-way, per-email hashed value to filter out your own opens and automated scanner prefetches.
  • Account and connection data. When you connect the Extension, we create and store an authorization token that links it to your Driploop account.
  • Local settings. Your preferences (such as notification and follow-up settings) are stored locally in your browser and are not, by themselves, personal information.

Tracking is opt-in per account

Tracking is off by default for every Gmail account. Nothing is tracked for an account until you explicitly enable it, and you can turn it off again at any time. If you are signed in to several Gmail accounts in the same browser, enabling tracking for one does not enable it for the others.

How we use information

We use the information described above only to:

  • provide and operate the email tracking features you request;
  • show you read receipts, open and click history, and reminders;
  • send you notifications you have enabled; and
  • maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the service.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it only:

  • with service providers (such as hosting and infrastructure providers) that process data on our behalf to run the service;
  • if required to do so by law, regulation, or valid legal process; or
  • in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will seek to require the recipient to honor this Policy.

Data retention

We keep information only for as long as it is reasonably needed to provide the service. Identifying details may be removed after a period of time, and tracked-email records may be deleted after a longer period. You can disconnect the Extension or request deletion of your data at any time, and we will act on such requests within a reasonable time.

Your choices and controls

  • Enable or disable tracking per Gmail account at any time.
  • Adjust what is collected (such as approximate location and browser type) in your settings.
  • Disconnect the Extension to stop tracking new emails.
  • Contact us to access or delete your data.

Security

We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect the information we process. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You use the Extension at your own risk.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Our handling of information obtained through the Extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We only use the data to provide or improve the user-facing features described here, and we do not sell it, use it for advertising, or transfer it to third parties except as described in this Policy.

Children

The Extension is intended for a general, professional audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to access or delete it. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond as required by applicable law.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Changes are effective when posted, and your continued use of the Extension after that constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
